Engagement within the approval process
South Australia’s Department for Energy and Mining describes a two-stage process under the Mining Act 1971 (SA): a mining lease and an approved program for environment protection and rehabilitation. Both are required before mining operations begin. Other permissions may also apply to a particular proposal.
